RAAS/ FOURPOST ...whatever they want to call it is SHUT DOWN!!! 100% FAILURE
i called it from the moment it opened in October of 2017. That mall doesn't care about small business!!!
Never has!  Never will!!
is the media going to report this absolute failure? of course not!
I was only trapped in that mall for 18 years, what do i know? ....clearly more than they do
January 5, 2019

west edmonton mall has renamed raas to fourpost.  late november of 2018.

yes, when you have an 83% failure of RAAS, they have a bunch of upset tenants like me who made no money and start talking to everyone, like i am. so here we go again, let's sucker a bunch more in to signing leases that will bankrupt them, and the media will not report on this failure.

a twitter post below from one of the stores formerly in RAAS now relaunched as FOURPOST on November 6th, 2018. By January 1st, 2019....only 2 months later...the entire thing was Closed.  yes, a 100% FAILURE!!! Please report this FAKE NEWS MEDIA!!!

RAAS (West Edmonton Mall Pretending they Care About Small Business)
this is what is left of their RAAS as of November 2, 2018
10 stores out of 29 remaining
Imagine if our NEWS reported these FACTS???

Adesso, Lamose, Mala &Me, Pura Botanicals, and Saraswati.  Only 5/29 of the ORIGINAL stores are still operational one year later. Would any new store want to open up knowing that they have at best  a 17% chance of success in RAAS.  And I am not saying the remaining 5 are successful, just that they have managed to last a year.

wouldn't it be wonderful if our news would report truth like this? Tell the world that you have an 83% chance of FAILURE opening up your small business in the RAAS section of West Edmonton MALL

this was RAAS when they started in October 2017 having 29 stores

I spoke about RAAS opening up in West Edmonton Mall on Oct 24, 2017.  As soon as I read the story, I knew it wouldn't work, and I knew they didn't just all of a sudden care about small business, since they just finished forcing us all out by raising our rents up so high knowing we can not afford them with our sales.

So how is RAAS working out for them one year later?
Take a 10 by 10 foot space, split it in half, and that's what you got for $2500 per month plus 20 % of your sales or $3500 per month plus 18% of your sales.  Tenants started to talk to each other and they all found out they were paying different rates. Not very small business friendly rates at all.

who is where? magazine to report this as low risk? this is fake news!! this is extreme high risk when you do the math!

let me show you just how mathematics works here and how "low- risk" this is....
let's start with this 10  by 10 foot space (half of that is $2500 for 50 sq feet/ so the full of that is $5000 for 100 square feet) That is what this GREEDY mall was charging these small independent LOCAL retailers to operate in this end of the mall where nobody goes!

so if this was a regular store of say 1000 sq feet, ten times that is $50,000!!!
Let me now tell you about that location. in phase 4, the slowest end of the shopping centre where i had my 6th store up above that was so boring to be in, and where i had my 7th location right on that lower level, that wasn't much busier!

They took 29 small local businesses and charged them each between $2500 and $3500  per month (approx $87,000 in lease revenue )

but wait, it gets even better here. that wasn't enough money for the mall, nope. they wanted more. these tenants had to give the mall 18-20% of their sales over and above this rent!!

The coordinator of RAAS was constantly being informed of how there was no traffic down there.  How over the course of an hour, maybe ONE customer would walk by.  Not worth their time to be there.

who is where? magazine to report this as low risk? this is fake news!! this is extreme high risk!

RAAS tenants,  didn't have to lock in to a long term lease.   They could learn how little traffic there was after 3 months and leave if they weren't happy with the sales.  They also had 29 other shops to discuss their problems with and collectively decide that it was the mall, not them that was the problem.  And 24 of them left!!!!  Imagine if all the main mall tenants could get together and do this?

Imagine if all the CEO's of the stores in West Edmonton Mall got together to discuss lack of traffic flow in that shopping centre and compare lease rates???  I bet most of the shopping centre would want out of their contracts immediately and SWHTF

Maybe they could if the mainstream media started reporting the truth about the retail collapse like they should have been doing a long time ago.

This was what the area they used for RAAS looked like in August, 2017.
